1. The Gift of Motherhood
Gen 1:27-28,31
“So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female. God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth.” God saw all that he had made, and it was very good indeed. Evening came and then morning: the sixth day.”
Both genders were created in His image, but each gender presents our God in unique unique ways.
Each women created with ability to give life and nurture it, ability to love in the special intimate way and to comfort.
Each girl is called to nurture life ( care for caterpillar, small chicks, little babies…) cod has created women in the special way not only to take care of their phisical family, but care for other , care for the spiritual family. Tavipha, Mary amd Martha, women at empty tomb… mother Teresa…

God has created mother with special closeness to her children which greatly reflects Even greater Gods love and comfort
In Is 66:13 “As a mother comforts her son, so I will comfort you, and you will be comforted in Jerusalem.”
Mothers play an important role in development of next generations
Theodore Roosevelt, one of America's greatest Presidents, said, 'it is the mother, and the mother only, who is a better citizen than the soldier who fights for his country. The successful mother, the mother who does her part in rearing and training aright the boys and girls who are to be the men and women of the next generation, is of greater use to the community, and occupies, if she would only realize it, a more honorable as well as a more important position than any man in it. The mother is the one supreme asset of the national life. She is more important, by far, than the successful statesman, or businessman, or artist, or scientist.'
Thank God for Who he is, for showing us himself through our mothers. Understand that motherhood is a gift to our women and their calling. We need to protect it encourage it, help to explore and learn how to do it in the way it reflects Our Gods and it is done for his glory.
2. The hope for distorted motherhood
Before motherhood was practiced, something were wrong has happened, mother to be died spiritually.
From the beginning God intimately tied womanhood and motherhood, Eve was a first woman, first wife, first mother.her identity was being a person of God first and foremost, it was relationship with God that Satan targeted. He knew that by getting at who Eve was at the core, he would get hold of everything else of her as woman, wife and mother.
As a result of her disobedience, believing a lie god pronounced the consequences he informed about
Gen 3:13-16
“So the Lord God asked the woman, “What have you done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” He said to the woman: I will intensify your labor pains; you will bear children with painful effort. Your desire will be for your husband, yet he will rule over you.”

Because of the loss of relationship with God and becoming self- self-centered, trying to figure out life ourselves, sins of others, sufferings as a result of sin, confusion that is offered by the world…
Mother’s Day is difficult for many people,
those who long for marriage or for children.
For those who are infertile or
who has experienced loss of new life to miscarriage or
one who gave birth to still baby or to mother who’s child died in its early age.
There are many people who don’t speak with their mothers because of pain that was experienced before.
Bible provides with true picture of motherhood, real stories of such a woman as Ruth who was left widowed at a young age, Rachel, Hannah and Sarah with infertility, Mary and Eve lost Sons under terrible circumstances.
Motherhood is hard, mothers are facing with the enemies as witching themselves as well is from outside.
Physical pain is a huge part of a mother: pregnancy complications, labor itself, post birth changes. Bleeding, scars, stretch marks, back pain, gain in weight…

Emotional- she has to deal in difficult circumstances that requires for her mothering to operate. Broken marriage, illnesses, loneliness, fears of future, financial instabilities, luck of support – she has to deal with her emotions
Spiritual hardships, getting hurt by others even children and hurting others herself.
We are tempted by poisonous outside source continually
world expects to act to look to be certain way.
Women’s rights to their own bodies, career, social position, possessions, pursuit of youth. – gods of personal desires.
If there is no dependence on God, women fall into two extremes: escape, reject motherhood or into self performance . Both of them centered on self and our own abilities, Roth fail because was never originated from us, it is from God.
Because of the fall, mother suffer.
Before the fall there were no tears, sleepless nights, infertility, abuse, wheelchairs, miscarriage and death. There no disobedient or foolish children as well as no lazy and angry mothers.
In the midst of all these hardships God is there, He is still good, he is faithful. We have God who is closer then a friend, who loves our children more then we ever will. He answers our prayers.
Before he pronounced curse to the women he pronounced curse to the Satan

Hope:
Every Jewish girl was thought by parents that she can be the one who would give birth to this savior. Anticipation in the air when ?
Hope! But in our sorrow our savior offers encouragement
3. God used motherhood to give us our Savior – happy Mother’s Day!
Gal 4:4-7
“When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then God has made you an heir.
Savior comes through motherhood, God respects it still a lot, he plans to sanctify it
Savior is sent through motherhood to bring people including mothers back to His Father for an adoption.
He restores those who had abusive parents, who did not have parents, to a true parent from whom all parenting comes from. Moreover he transforms broken motherhood with God dependent mothering.
Today God still uses ordinary mothers to achieve His purposes. When you marry, as soon as one becomes mom, she is inexperienced, unskilled. Instead of trying figure out motherhood one needs The Savior to teach of this new reality of His comfort, His Love, and learn from Him. Our heart has to experience this love first.
God is the one who loves us and our children in best way and only from him we can find out how.
Agree to what God has for you. If you are not married, if you are single mom, if you can’t have children if you have many children you need to trust God he keeps his promises, wait on him, hope in him. He has much grace to our failures.
This Savior would redeem soul of a mother first, he would bring her to her creator for the restoration of their relationship and then give her ministry of sustaining life and nurturing of generations to come.
4. Motherhood in Christ
How can Jesus help me in my mothering? He never was a mother? How can a woman be desciple of Christ learning how to be spiritual and physical mother
1 Peter 4:11
“If anyone speaks, let it be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, let it be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.”
Speak as God’s words
Serve with God’s strength he provides
Read God’s Word instead of outside resources/ technology
Pray for yourself, family and mothering ministry
Be filled with Christ spirit , in suffering and not much, don’t do mothering with your flesh
Have a new identity mindset ( where belongings ,and calling to show God and glorify God)
Take care of your heart first before ministry
Think of mothering in terms of eternity ( not only here and now but there and then)
Be ready to do mandane things
Aspect suffering , it reflects cross, motherhood and nurturing requires sacrifices – look for the time of glory
Partner with your husband, with other believers
God in his sovereignty wants you to be your children’s mama, he wants to bless your kids through you, he places a special love for them, he wants you to teach them ways of life , truth in love, comfort them, encourage them, discipline them, guide them. But this requires Gods intervention, God’s strength .
And he provides a teacher, a comforter, a Nurturer, life giver and sustainer.
Titus 2:3-5
“In the same way, older women are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not slaves to excessive drinking. They are to teach what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands and to love their children, to be self-controlled, pure, workers at home, kind, and in submission to their husbands, so that God’s word will not be slandered.”
5. Motherhood appreciated ( mothering from the cross) mothering to the grieving mother.
Jn 19:25-27
“Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple he loved standing there, he said to his mother,
“Woman, here is your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.”
Love of mother- her house is far, agony of seeing His suffering. She would die instead, but what Jesus does human motherhood can’t accomplish, it’s greater, God’s motherhood at work to save. That’s where she is learning to trust God , except her limitations, her own needs.
Place where there kinds of love meet: mother to son, friends love and gods agape. All of them from God, Jesus uses them all here to build something buitiful
One of the few sayings of Jesus on the cross. He appreciates his sinful mother, he loves her much, he cares for her much.
For every mother He is your God, he is your savior , comforter, teacher
Do this ministry for his kingdom, God sent you in the right circumstances, old ladies, young ladies you are needed to nurture Gods life.
“The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little while. To him be dominion forever. Amen.”

To the sons and daughters:
Appreciate your mothers, forgive, care, comfort, share spiritual truth, attend to their phisical needs,
Church value women’s ministry at home and at the church, they are created to do what other can’t do.
Pray for them, express your love towards them, take care of them when they can’t take care of themselves.
